Nokia Pulse is a social networking site from Nokia that focuses on sharing messages with friends, who can differ between various conversations. These messages can have an image, text, and/or location information attached.

I worked primarily on the user interface and experience side of things, focusing at first on repairing defects in the code, whether in the MVC back-end, or the front-end. I dove head-first into an unfamiliar framework and language (Ruby), learning on the job, and becoming familiar within a week, and an expert in the system within months.

The first five slides to the left show the welcome page guided tour, which worked on alone, taking UX designs from team members and coding them into functioning web pages. The tour slides use absolutely-positioned arrows and text elements to create a dynamic experience that makes learning about Pulse fun and interesting.

The next two slides (above and below the fold, respectively) show my final work on Pulse, public-facing pages that show a select amount of information about any given Pulse post, provided that the given ticket ID (within the URL) is valid and matches the item specified. Private information such as the poster's location, specific comment contents, and the name of the conversation itself are all hidden from this version of the item details page. This page is shown whether logged in or not, whereas the final slide shows a regular item details page, which requires not only a login but being part of the conversation itself (added as a participant).
