3-Up is a free service where users can shrink large URLs into smaller ones hosted on the site. 3-Up also lets users tweet links to web sites in an all-in-one function that: (1) shortens the URL, (2) scrapes the web site for the title, and (3) puts all of this information into a tweet and displays it for the user’s approval. The Twitter API is utilized to allow the user to log in using the Twitter service for the tweeting capability.
Future improvements will include an image upload feature, as well as link tracking functionality, utilizing information that is currently collected whenever a user visits a 3-Up hosted URL.
